Administrative Board of Trustees
The MMRLS Administrative Board of Trustees exercises the power and authority and assumes the responsibilities delegated to it by the Mississippi Code 1972 Ann. § 39-3-17 & 39-3-19, as the governing authority of the Mid-Mississippi Regional Library System. Click Here to Read the Board’s Bylaws.

The Mid-Mississippi Regional Library System Executive Director plans, organizes, directs, implements, and evaluates the operation, policies, and administration of the five county regional library system as directed by the Administrative Board of Trustees.

MMRLS Advisory Boards of Trustees
Mid-Mississippi Regional Library System Advisory Boards of Trustees act in an advisory capacity to the MMRLS Administrative Board in accordance with the Mississippi Code 1972 Ann. § 39-3-13(4). In addition to the administrative board, the advisory board also advises the library system executive director, local officials, and other relevant groups, individuals, and officials on the needs and interests of the Mid-Mississippi Regional Library System, including:
Standards and trends in library service, the securing of adequate funds to support library services, the support of relevant library legislation at the state or national level, the support of the mission of the Mid-Mississippi Regional Library System, and the encouragement of the greatest use of library facilities and programs.
Acting in its role as a liaison between the community, local government, and the administrative board, the advisory board shall also serve as a forum for discussion on other relevant library topics during its regular meetings, and its members shall act as effective library advocates when the need arises. Each MMRLS County has an active advisory board.
